The VTech Musical Rhymes Book requires 2 AAA batteries for operation. Batteries are included for demo purposes, but new batteries are recommended for regular use.

- Huri Whārangi: Gently turn the large, durable pages to explore different nursery rhymes. The book will respond with sounds and phrases relevant to the current page.
- Huānga Pāhekoheko: Slide and twist the fun play pieces embedded on each page to activate sounds and enhance motor skills.
- Kī Piano: Press the five colorful piano keys on the side of the book to hear piano sounds and learn about colors and instruments.
- Light-up Star: The light-up star on the spine of the book flashes along with the sounds, providing visual feedback.

- Te horoi: Wipe the surface of the book with a slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse the book in water.
- Rokiroki: Store the book in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Tiaki Pūhiko: Remove batteries if the book will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.
- Mauroa: The book is designed for durability, but avoid dropping it from high places or applying excessive force to the pages or interactive elements.
