3. Tatūnga
Follow these steps to set up your VTech CS6919-2 phone system.
3.1 Tāuta Pūhiko me te Whakatau
- Tāutahia te Pūhiko: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset. Connect the battery pack connector securely into the jack inside the compartment. Place the battery pack with the label "THIS SIDE UP" facing up. Close the battery compartment cover.
- Utuhia te Pukoro: Place each handset face forward in its respective telephone base or charger. The CHARGE light on the handset will illuminate, indicating proper charging. Allow the handsets to charge for at least 16 hours before initial use. For optimal battery performance, keep the handsets in the charger when not in use.
3.2 Base Unit and Charger Connection
- Connect the Telephone Base: Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the telephone base. Plug the other end into a telephone wall jack.
- Tūhonohia te Pūurutau Hiko: Plug the small end of the power adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the telephone base. Plug the large end into a standard electrical outlet.
- Honoa te Kaitohu: For the auxiliary handset, plug the small end of its power adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the charger. Plug the large end into a standard electrical outlet.

3.3 Whakapuru Taiepa (Kōwhiringa)
The telephone base can be mounted on a wall using the included wall mount bracket. Refer to the separate wall mount guide for detailed instructions.
4. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
4.1 Ngā Mahi Waea Taketake
- Karangahia: Perehi KORERO / MAHI or KORERO, ka waeahia te nama waea.
- Whakautu Waea: Ka tangi ana te waea, pehi KORERO / MAHI or KORERO.
- Whakamutua te Waea: Perehi WHAKATOA/Whakakore me whakahoki ranei te ringaringa ki te papa waea, ki te rihi ranei.
- Waeaorooro: I te wa e waea ana, pehia KORERO to switch between handset and speakerphone mode.
4.2 Kaiwaea ID
When you subscribe to Caller ID service, the caller's name and number will appear on the handset display. The phone stores information for the last 30 incoming calls.
- Review Rārangi Tautuhi Kaiwaea: Perehi CID to scroll through the Caller ID log.
- Dial from Caller ID Log: Ahakoa viewing an entry, press KORERO / MAHI ki te waea i te nama.
4.3 Waea Aukati
The call block feature allows you to prevent calls from up to 20 specific numbers. This feature requires a Caller ID subscription.
- Add a Number to Call Block:
- Perehi MENU/KORERO.
- Panuku ki Paraka karanga me te pehi MENU/KORERO.
- Panuku ki Taapirihia he urunga hou me te pehi MENU/KORERO.
- Enter the phone number you wish to block (up to 30 digits).
- Perehi MENU/KORERO ki te whakaora.
- Block an Incoming Call: I te wa e waea mai ana, peehi KAUPAPA PORI (if available on your handset model) or follow the menu options to block the number.
4.4 Handset Registration/Deregistration
Your handsets are pre-registered to the telephone base. If you purchase additional handsets or need to re-register a handset, follow these steps:
- Deregister Handsets: This is sometimes necessary before registering new handsets or if experiencing issues.
- I te turanga waea, pēhi me te pupuri Kimi HANDSET for about 10 seconds until the IN USE light on the base flashes.
- Patohia tonu Kimi HANDSET again. All handsets registered to the base will be deregistered.
- Register a Handset:
- Whakanohia te ringaringa ki te papa waea, ki te rihi ranei.
- I te turanga waea, pēhi me te pupuri Kimi HANDSET for about 4 seconds until the IN USE light on the base flashes. Release the button.
- I runga i te ringaringa, pehia # (pound key). The handset will display "Registering..." and then "Handset Registered" if successful.
5. Tiaki
5.1 Te horoi
Clean the phone and charger with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays or liquid cleaners. Ensure the phone is unplugged from the wall outlet before cleaning.
5.2 Tiaki Pūhiko
- Use only the supplied rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack.

- Do not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause burns or injury to the eyes or skin.
