4. Tatūnga

4.1. Tāutanga

The Z-E2050 is designed for specific VW, Skoda, and Seat models. Due to the complexity of vehicle electronics and CAN-bus integration, professional installation is strongly recommended. Ensure all wiring harnesses are correctly connected, especially the CAN-bus interface for vehicle data and steering wheel control functionality.

  1. After installation, turn on your vehicle's ignition. The Z-E2050 should power on automatically.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts for initial setup, which may include language selection, time zone, and basic audio settings.

  4. Once paired, you can make and receive calls directly from the infotainer's screen or stream music from your phone.

5.3. Media Playback (CD/DVD/USB/HDMI)

The Z-E2050 supports various media sources:

  • CD/DVD: Insert a disc into the slot. Playback will start automatically or can be selected from the main menu.
  • USB: Connect a USB storage device to one of the USB ports. Select 'USB' from the main menu to browse and play audio or video files.
  • HDMI: Connect an external device (e.g., a smartphone or media player) via HDMI. Select 'HDMI' from the main menu to display content.

5.4. SmartLink Direct

The SmartLink Direct function allows you to mirror the screen of your Android smartphone onto the Z-E2050's display via a USB connection. This enables you to control compatible smartphone applications, including navigation apps, directly from the infotainer's touchscreen.

5.5. Navigation (Optional)

If the optional Z-EMAP50 Navi Package is installed, the Z-E2050 transforms into a full-featured 3D navigation system. Access navigation by tapping the 'NAV' icon. The system provides detailed maps for 47 European countries and includes a comprehensive database of Points of Interest (POIs).

5.6. Vehicle Data Display

Thanks to CAN-bus integration, the Z-E2050 can display various vehicle-specific information:

  • Optical Parking System (OPS): Visual representation of parking sensor data.
  • Climatronic: Display of climate control settings.
  • MFA/MFA+: Integration with the vehicle's multi-function display for data like fuel level, battery voltage, and outside temperature.
