Proper installation ensures optimal performance and comfort. Follow these steps to install your clamp kete:

4.1 Mounting the Clamp Waeine

Ko te clamp unit attaches to the left side of your helmet. You can choose between the clamp type or the glued surface mounting adapter depending on your helmet's design.

  • Clamp Momo: Wewetehia nga wiri o te clamp using the provided Allen wrench. Slide the clamp between the helmet shell and the inner padding on the left side. Position it securely and tighten the screws.
  • Glued Surface Mounting Adapter: Clean the desired mounting area on the left side of your helmet. Peel off the adhesive backing from the adapter and firmly press it onto the helmet surface. Hold for 30 seconds to ensure a strong bond.

4.2 Te Whakataunga Kaikōrero

The dynamic speakers attach inside your helmet's ear pockets.

  • Remove the cheek pads and any internal lining that covers the ear pockets.
  • Attach the hook and loop fasteners to the back of each speaker.
  • Place the speakers directly over your ears inside the helmet. Use speaker pads (thick) or foam speaker covers if needed to bring the speakers closer to your ears for optimal sound quality and to reduce wind noise.
  • Route the speaker wires neatly under the helmet padding to the clamp wae.

4.3 Whakamaunga Waorooro

Choose the microphone type that best suits your helmet and riding style.

  • Pūorooro Boom: Ideal for open-face or modular helmets. Attach the boom microphone to the clamp unit. Position the microphone directly in front of your mouth, ensuring the wind screen is on.
  • Puoro Waea: Suitable for full-face helmets. Attach the wired microphone to the clamp unit. Secure the microphone inside the helmet near your mouth using the provided hook and loop fasteners or the boom microphone holder.
  • Wired Boom Microphone: Provides extended reach for specific helmet designs.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

Once your clamp kit is installed and your Sena communication system is attached, refer to your specific Sena unit's manual (20S, 20S EVO, or 30K) for detailed operating instructions. However, here are some general functions:

5.1 Hiko / Whakaweto

Typically, to power on your Sena unit, press and hold the Jog Dial and Phone Button simultaneously until you hear an audible prompt like "Hello" or see indicator lights.

5.2 Mana Rōrahi

5.3 Takirua Waea

With your Sena unit powered on, press and hold the Phone Button until you hear "Phone Pairing" and see alternating red and blue flashing lights. Then, select your Sena unit from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

5.4 Takirua Takirua

To pair with another Sena unit, ensure both units are powered on. Press and hold the Jog Dial on both units simultaneously until you hear "Intercom Pairing" and see red flashing lights. Then, press the Jog Dial on one of the units to initiate pairing.

5.5 Te utu

The charging port is typically located on the back of the main unit, often under a rubber flap. Use a Micro USB cable to charge. A full charge usually takes approximately 2.5 hours, providing up to 12 hours of talk time.
