2. Charging the Units

For optimal performance, fully charge both the Parent Unit and Baby Unit before first use. The Parent Unit has a built-in rechargeable battery, while the Baby Unit requires continuous power.

  2. Plug the other end of the adapter into a wall outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate.

3. Pairing the Camera and Monitor

The units are pre-paired at the factory. If you lose connection or add additional cameras (up to 4), follow these steps to re-pair:

  1. Turn on both the Parent Unit and the Baby Unit.
  2. On the Parent Unit, press the Tahua / OK pātene ki te uru ki te tahua.
  3. Whakatere ki te Kāmera ata, ā, tīpakohia.
  4. Choose an available camera slot (e.g., Camera 1, Camera 2).
  5. Tīpakohia te takirua option. The monitor will display a pairing countdown.

  7. Once paired, the image from the camera will appear on the monitor.

3. Rua-Way Ororongo

The two-way audio feature allows you to hear your baby and speak back to them, providing comfort and reassurance from another room.

1. Cleaning the Units

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your monitor, regular cleaning is recommended.

  • Always disconnect the power adapters before cleaning.

No Signal / Poor Connection

Screen Blanks Out / Red X Appears

  • Reset Parent Unit: Locate the tiny reset button on the back of the Parent Unit (often underneath the tilting stand). Use a paper clip to gently press and hold the button for a few seconds to restart the unit. This often resolves display issues.

Short Battery Life on Parent Unit

  • Aratau VOX: Enable VOX mode to conserve battery by turning off the screen when no sound is detected.

  • Aging Battery: Over time, rechargeable batteries naturally degrade. If the battery life is significantly shorter than expected even after full charges and using power-saving features, the battery may need replacement.
