The X2 1401 is designed for outdoor installation. Choose a location that is easily accessible, close to the main water supply and power outlet, and protected from direct impact.

  1. Use appropriate screws and anchors to securely mount the controller to a wall or sturdy surface.
  2. Ensure the controller is level to prevent moisture accumulation.

Before wiring, ensure the power supply to the controller is disconnected.

  1. Connect the common wire (usually white) from your valves to the terminal marked 'C' (Common).
  2. Connect each zone valve wire to its corresponding station terminal (1-14).
  3. If using a master valve or pump start relay, connect its wire to the terminal marked 'MV' (Master Valve).

3. Installing the Wi-Fi Wand (Optional)

The Wi-Fi Wand module (not included) enables smart features and remote control.

  1. Locate the dedicated port for the Wi-Fi Wand on the side of the controller.
  2. Carefully insert the Wi-Fi Wand into the port until it clicks into place.
  3. Once installed, power on the controller. The display will indicate Wi-Fi status.

Manual Programming (Without Wi-Fi)

The X2 controller can be programmed directly using the rotary dial and buttons on the control panel.

  1. Tautuhi Rā/Wā: Turn the dial to 'Date/Time' and use the arrow buttons to set the current date and time.
  2. Tautuhia ngā Wā Tīmata: Turn the dial to 'Start Times'. Select a program (A, B, or C) and set up to 4 start times for each program.
  3. Tautuhia ngā Wā Whakahaere: Turn the dial to 'Run Times'. For each program, set the watering duration for each station (up to 6 hours).
  4. Tautuhi Ra Wai: Turn the dial to 'Water Days'. Select specific days of the week, odd/even days, or interval watering.
  5. Whakaritea o te tau: Turn the dial to 'Seasonal Adjust' to globally increase or decrease watering durations by a percentage.
  6. Whakaweto Pūnaha: Turn the dial to 'System Off' to suspend all automatic watering.
  7. Whakahaere: Turn the dial to 'Run' for automatic operation based on your programmed schedule.

Wi-Fi and Hydrawise App Operation (with Wi-Fi Wand)

Once the Wi-Fi Wand is installed and the controller is connected to your home network, you can manage it remotely using the Hydrawise app or web atanga.

  1. Download the Hydrawise App: Rapua "Hydrawise" in your smartphone's app store or visit the Hydrawise webpae.
  2. Waihanga Pūkete: Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new Hydrawise account.
  3. Tāpirihia te Kaiwhakahaere: Use the app's setup wizard to connect your X2 controller to your Hydrawise account. This typically involves scanning a QR code or entering a serial number.
  4. Configure Watering Plans: Within the Hydrawise app, you can create and modify watering schedules, utilize predictive watering based on local weather, and monitor system status in real-time.
  5. Mana Mamao: Start, stop, or suspend watering for individual zones or the entire system from anywhere with an internet connection.
