  • Do not place the baby unit or cords within 3 feet (1 meter) of the crib or playpen.
  • Never use extension cords with power adapters.

3. Aratohu Tatūnga

Both the parent unit and the baby unit (soother) come with built-in rechargeable batteries. For optimal performance, charge both units for at least 12 hours before initial use.

  1. Connect the small end of the power adapter to the power jack on each unit.

  3. The battery indicator on both units will show charging status.

3.2 Placing the Baby Unit

Place the baby unit in your baby's room, ensuring it is within 1000 feet (300 meters) of the parent unit for optimal range and clear transmission.

  • Position the baby unit at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from your baby's crib or playpen.
  • Ensure the baby unit is on a flat surface or securely attached using its flexible tail.

3.3 Using the Parent Unit

The parent unit is portable and can be carried with you around your home. It features a belt clip for hands-free monitoring.

4. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

4.1 Ngā Mana Whakahaere o te Wāhanga Matua

  • Pātene Hiko: Press and hold to turn the unit ON or OFF.
  • Mana Rōrahi: Use the up and down arrow buttons to adjust the listening volume.
  • Tohu Oro Taumata-5: LED lights on the parent unit visually indicate the sound level detected in your baby's room, even when muted.

4.2 Baby Unit (Soother) Controls

  • Soft-Glow Night Light: The monkey's cheeks gently light up. Press the light button to dim or brighten the glow.
  • Ngā Oro Whakamarie me ngā Waiata Moemoeā: Choose from five gentle lullabies and four soft ambient sounds (including trickling stream and white noise) to help your baby sleep.
  • Taumahi Matawā: The soother features an auto shut-off after 60 minutes to conserve battery.
  • Hiku Ngāwari: The stretchable tail allows you to hook the soother onto stroller handles, doorknobs, or car seats.

To keep your VTech DM1411 monitor clean, follow these guidelines:

  • Wipe the units with a slightly damp kakahu.
