The Olafus flood light offers two primary operating modes: Dusk to Dawn and Always-on, both controllable via the included remote.

- Dusk to Dawn (D2D) Mode: The light automatically turns on when ambient light levels are low (night) and turns off when light levels are high (day). This mode is activated by pressing the 'D2D' button on the remote.
- Always-on Mode: The light can be manually turned on or off using the remote control or your home's wall switch. Activate this mode by pressing the 'Always ON' button on the remote.
Tuhipoka: This flood light does not have a motion sensor and is not solar-powered.

- Slight Bright ON/OFF (D2D Mode): After the timing function ends in D2D mode, you can choose for the light to either turn completely OFF or remain at 15% brightness (Slight Bright ON). Use the 'Slight Bright ON' or 'Slight Bright OFF' buttons to select this behavior.
