- Turanga: Place the folded treadmill on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for safe operation (at least 2 meters behind and 0.5 meters on each side).
- Unfolding the Running Deck: Gently step on the pedal located near the base of the handrail. This will release the running deck. Carefully unfold the running deck until it lies flat on the floor.
- Raising the Handrail: Lift the handrail upwards until it locks securely into place. Ensure both sides of the handrail are fully extended and locked.
- Hononga Hiko: Connect the power cord to the treadmill's power input and then plug it into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Taki Tuatahi: Before starting, ensure all parts are securely in place and there are no loose components.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
The KINGSMITH MC21 offers two primary operating modes: Manual (M Mode) and Automatic (A Mode), along with multiple control options.
5.1. Tikanga Whakahaere
- Data Touchpad: The integrated display on the handrail provides real-time data and allows for basic control.
- Pūmana Mamao: Use the provided remote to start, stop, accelerate, decelerate, and switch between modes.
- KS Fit APP: For advanced control, tracking, and personalized workouts, download and connect to the KS Fit application on your smartphone.

5.2. M Mode (Manual Mode)
In M Mode, you have full manual control over the treadmill's speed using the remote controller or the data touchpad.
- Tīmata: Press the "Start" button on the remote or touchpad. The treadmill will begin at a low speed.
- Whakatere: Use the "+" button on the remote or touchpad to increase speed.
- Whakahekea: Use the "-" button on the remote or touchpad to decrease speed.

5.3. A Mode (Automatic Mode)
A Mode utilizes pressure sensors embedded under the running deck to automatically adjust speed based on your foot placement and frequency. This provides a more intuitive and comfortable running experience.
