2. Mounting to Radiator

The thermostat comes with various adapters to fit different radiator valves. Identify the correct adapter for your valve type.

  • If your radiator valve is a standard M30x1.5, you may not need an adapter.
  • For other valve types (e.g., Danfoss RA, RAV, RAV L, Caleffi, Giacomini), select the appropriate adapter.
  • Attach the chosen adapter to your radiator valve.
  • Screw the thermostat onto the adapter or directly onto the valve until it is securely fastened.

  1. Tikiake te Tuya Smart or Te Ora Maamaa app from your mobile device's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android).

  6. Once connected, you can rename the device and begin controlling it via the app.

You can manually adjust the temperature directly on the thermostat by rotating the knob. The current temperature will be displayed on the screen.

  • Activate/deactivate features like open window detection or child lock.
  • Monitor temperature history and energy usage.

The thermostat is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. After linking your Tuya Smart/Smart Life account in the Alexa or Google Home app, you can control the thermostat with simple voice commands.

  • Example: "Alexa, set the bedroom temperature to 21 degrees."
  • Example: "Hey Google, what is the temperature in the living room?"

Set up a 7-day programmable weekly schedule with up to 4 time periods per day via the app to optimize heating and save energy.

5. Whakatuwhera Matapihi Rapu

This feature automatically detects a sudden drop in temperature (more than 1.5°C within 5 minutes), indicating an open window. The thermostat will temporarily turn off heating for 30 minutes to prevent energy waste. Heating resumes if no operation is performed for 30 minutes or if the temperature rises by more than 1.5°C within 4.5 minutes. This function must be enabled in the app.

If you notice a discrepancy between the actual room temperature and the temperature displayed on the TRV, you can calibrate the internal sensor using the app. The adjustment range is typically -10°C to +10°C.

The digital display can be rotated to two orientations for easier reading, depending on how the thermostat is mounted. Press the setup button to switch the display orientation.

8. Backlight Brightness

The thermostat features three levels of adjustable backlight brightness (Low, Medium, High) to suit your preference and create a comfortable environment, especially during sleep.
