3. Tohutohu Tatūnga

3.1 Download the AiDot App

  1. Rapua "AiDot" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Tikiake me te tāuta i te tono.
  3. Create an account and follow the in-app instructions to confirm your email.

3.2 Activate the Sensor Battery

Before use, activate the sensor by removing the plastic insulation tab from the battery compartment.

  1. Use the supplied battery cover tool or a coin to gently twist and open the back cover of the sensor.
  2. Remove the plastic insulation tab covering the CR2450 battery.

3.3 Plug in the Wi-Fi Hub

Plug the Wi-Fi hub into a standard electrical outlet in an area with good 2.4G WiFi signal coverage. The hub will automatically enter pairing mode.

3.4 Add Devices to the App

The water leak sensor is pre-paired with the hub by default. If you need to add additional sensors or re-pair, follow these steps:

  1. Open the AiDot app and navigate to "My Home".
  2. Tap "Add Device" or the '+' icon.
  3. Scan the QR code located on the back of each sensor.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to assign the sensor to a room (e.g., Kitchen, Laundry Room, Basement) for easy identification.

Place the water leak sensors in areas prone to water leaks, ensuring they lie flat on the ground. Common locations include:

  • Near water heaters or sump pumps

When a water leak is detected, the system will trigger multiple alert modes:

  • Whakaoho Whakaoho: The hub will sound a 100dB alarm.
  • Whakamōhiotanga Taupānga: Receive instant push notifications on your smartphone via the AiDot app.
  • Email & SMS: Configured email addresses and phone numbers will receive alerts.

4.3 Mana Whakaoho

  • Whakaritea Rōrahi: The hub has buttons to adjust the alarm volume (high/medium/low).
  • Whakakore Whakaoho: Press any button on the hub or use the AiDot app to instantly mute the alarm.
  • Roa Whakaoho: Configure alarm duration settings (always ringing, 10 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds) via the app.

The water leak sensor uses a CR2450 Lithium-Ion battery. The battery life is approximately 365 days. When the battery is low, the app will notify you. To replace the battery:

  1. Use the supplied battery cover tool or a coin to gently twist and open the back cover of the sensor.
