  4. Press the Measurement button again. A beep will sound (if not muted), and the reading will appear on the display within 1 second.
  5. Remove the thermometer from the ear. The reading will remain on the display.
  6. Press the Probe Cover Eject button to discard the used probe cover.
  7. The thermometer will automatically shut off after 60 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.
