Follow these steps to connect your Panasonic PV-D4743S to your television and power source.
- Wewete ana: Carefully remove the DVD-VCR combo unit, remote control, and all cables from the packaging.
- Turanga: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Hononga Ataata:
- For optimal picture quality, connect the unit to your TV using a component video cable (red, green, blue connectors) for progressive scan output.
- Alternatively, use an taura S-ataata for improved quality over composite video.
- For standard definition, use a composite video cable (yellow connector).
- Hononga Ororongo:
- Connect the unit's audio output (red and white RCA connectors) to your TV or audio receiver.
- For Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound, connect an optical digital audio cable from the unit's optical output to a compatible audio/video receiver.
- Antenna/Cable Connection (for VCR recording): Connect your antenna or cable TV line to the "RF IN" jack on the back of the unit, then connect the "RF OUT" jack to your TV's antenna input.

- Kōkuhu Kōpae: Pehia te TUwhera/KATI button to open the disc tray. Place a DVD (DVD-Video, DVD-R, Video CD, CD, CD-R/RW, WMA, MP3 CD, JPEG) onto the tray with the label side facing up. Press TUwhera/KATI ano ki te kati i te paepae.
- Purei: Me tīmata aunoa te purei o te kōpae. Ki te kore, pēhia te pātene TAKARO pātene.
- Mana: Whakamahia te KATI, TATAHI, REW (whakahoki), FFWD (tere whakamua), Tuhinga o mua (o mua), me KAUPAPA pātene mo te mana purei.
- Kōpae Whakaputa: Perehi TUwhera/KATI ki te pana i te kōpae.
VCR Playback
- Whakahiko: Me mohio kei te kaha te hiko.
- Select VCR Mode: Pehia te PUTANGA button on the front panel or remote control until the VCR indicator light is illuminated.
- Kōkuhu Rīpene: Insert a VHS tape into the VCR slot. The unit will automatically load the tape.
- Purei: Pehia te TAKARO pātene ki te tīmata te purei anō.
- Mana: Whakamahia te KATI/PUA, TATAHI, REW (whakahoki), me FFWD (fast forward) buttons for playback control.
- Tuha Ripene: Perehi KATI/PUA to eject the tape.
VCR Recording (One-Touch Recording)
To record a TV program:
- Whakauruhia he Rīpene Hopu: Insert a blank or recordable VHS tape into the VCR slot.
- Select VCR Mode: Me whakarite kei roto te waeine i te aratau VCR.
- Tune to Channel: Tune the VCR to the desired TV channel you wish to record.
- Tīmata te tuhi: Pehia te REKOTI button. The unit will begin recording. Each press of the REKOTI button typically adds 30 minutes to the recording time.
- Kati te tuhi: Pehia te KATI/PUA pātene kia mutu te tuhi.
