- Whakakoi: With light, even pressure, pull the knife blade through the slot towards you, from heel to tip. Repeat this motion several times, alternating sides if necessary, until the desired sharpness is achieved.
- Clean the Knife: Always wipe the sharpened knife blade with a damp cloth to remove any metal shavings before use.
