3. Tatūnga
3.1 Tāuta Pūhiko
The Sharp EL-531WHBK calculator is powered by two LR44 batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:

3.2 Hiko Tuatahi
I muri i te tāutanga o te pākahiko, pēhia te pātene ON/C key to turn on the calculator. The display should show "0" or a similar initial state. If the display is blank or shows unusual characters, recheck battery installation or replace with new batteries.

4.1 Ngā Mahi Pāngarau Taketake
Whakauruhia nga nama ma te whakamahi i te papapātuhi tau. Whakamahia te +, -, ×, a ÷ keys for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, respectively. Press = hei whakaatu i te hua.
- Example: Hei tātai 15 + 7: Pēhia 1 5 + 7 =. Result: 22.
4.2 Ngā Mahi Pūtaiao
The calculator provides a wide array of scientific functions. Many functions require pressing the 2ndF key first to access secondary functions printed above the keys.
- Taumahinga Trigonometric: Whakamahi hara, cos, tan. For inverse functions (sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹), press 2ndF then the respective trigonometric key.
- Ngā Mahi Tauira: Whakamahi rangitaki (base 10) and ln (te taupūngao tūturu).
- Ngā Mana me ngā Pūtake: Whakamahi x² for squaring, √ for square root. For other powers (xʸ) or roots (ʸ√x), use the yˣ or ʸ√x mahi.
- Hautau: Whakamahia te ab/c key for fraction input and conversion.
4.3 Nga Mahi Mahara
The calculator has independent memory (M) and seven variable memories (A-F, X, Y).
- M+: Tāpirihia ai te uara e whakaaturia ana ki te mahara motuhake.
- M-: Tangohia te uara e whakaaturia ana mai i te mahara motuhake.
- RCL: Recalls the value from memory.
- STO: Stores the displayed value into a variable memory. Press STO then the desired variable key (e.g., A).

To enter statistical mode, press MODE then select the appropriate statistical mode (e.g., STAT). Input data using the CD RARAUnga key. The calculator can perform various statistical calculations, including mean, standard deviation, and regression analysis.
4.5 Angle Unit Modes
The calculator supports three angle unit modes: Degrees (DEG), Radians (RAD), and Gradians (GRAD). Press the DRG key repeatedly to cycle through these modes. The current mode is indicated on the display.
5. Tiaki
5.1 Te horoi
To clean the calculator, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray directly onto the calculator.
5.2 Rokiroki
When not in use for extended periods, store the calculator in its protective hard case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
5.3 Whakakapinga Pūhiko
If the display becomes dim or calculations are erratic, it may be time to replace the batteries. Refer to section 3.1 for battery installation instructions. The calculator uses two LR44 batteries.
