Careful assembly of your Alesis DM6 Kit is crucial for optimal performance and stability. Follow these general steps for setup:
- Wewete Waenga: Carefully remove all items from the packaging and verify that all listed components are present.
- Huihuia te Rack: Construct the heavy-duty aluminum rack according to the included diagram. Ensure all clamps are securely tightened using the provided drum key.
- Maunga Pads me Himibal: Attach the snare, tom, and cymbal pads to the rack using the appropriate mounting hardware. Position them ergonomically for comfortable playing.
- Tāuta Pedals: Place the upright kick drum pad and connect the Alesis bass drum pedal. Position the hi-hat pedal.
- Connect the DM6 Module: Mount the DM6 drum sound module to the rack. Connect each pad and cymbal to the corresponding input on the DM6 module using the provided cables. Ensure all connections are firm.
- Whakahiko: Connect the power adapter to the DM6 module and a power outlet.

Operating the DM6 Module
The DM6 module is the central control unit for your electronic drumset. It houses all the sounds and allows for customization.

- Puna oro: The DM6 module contains 108 high-quality drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds.
- Kete Pahū: Access 10 preset drum kits and save up to 5 custom kits. Use the 'KIT' button to navigate through these options.
- Papa tairongo: The pads feature natural rubber playing surfaces for realistic feel. The snare pad is dual-zone, allowing for distinct rim click and rimshot sounds.
- Hononga:
- Putanga USB-MIDI: Connect the module to a computer via USB to send MIDI signals. This enables use with drum-module software (e.g., BFD, Toontrack, Reason) for an expanded sound palette.
- Putanga Puoro: Practice silently by connecting headphones to the dedicated output.
- AmpPutanga whakaahuru: Hono atu ki tetahi amplifier or PA system for live performance or louder practice.
- Tāuru Tirohanga: Connect an external audio device, such as an iPod or CD player, to play along with your favorite tracks.
