2.2 Te Hononga i te Waea

2.2.1 Te Hononga i te Waea Pūkoro

Connect one end of the coiled cord to the handset and the other end to the handset port on the phone base unit. Ensure a secure connection.

2.2.2 Te Hononga ki te Whatunga me te Hiko

  1. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and the other end to your network switch or router.
  2. Connect the AC power adapter to the power port on the phone and then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. The phone will power on and begin its boot sequence.

2.2.3 Whakapuru Taiepa (Kōwhiringa)

The Aastra 6731i can be wall-mounted using the integrated wall-mount bracket. Securely attach the bracket to a wall stud or use appropriate wall anchors. Then, slide the phone onto the bracket until it clicks into place.

  • Te Waea: Lift the handset or press the Speakerphone button. Dial the desired number and press the Waea or Tukua soft key, or wait for automatic dialing.
  • Whakautu i te Karanga: Lift the handset or press the Speakerphone button when the phone rings.
  • Whakamutua te Waea: Replace the handset or press the Speakerphone button again.
  • Whakatika Rōrahi: Use the volume control buttons (up/down arrows) located below the keypad to adjust handset, headset, or speakerphone volume during a call.
  • Mahi Wahangu: Pehia te Wahangu button (microphone icon) to mute your microphone during a call. Press again to unmute.
  • Waeaorooro: Pehia te Waeaorooro button to toggle speakerphone mode on or off.

3.2 Āhuatanga Arā Atu Anō

  • Puritia: I te wa e piihia ana te waea, pehia te Puritia soft key or dedicated button to place the call on hold. Press again to resume.
  • Whakawhiti: I te wa e piihia ana te waea, pehia te Whakawhiti soft key or button. Dial the number to transfer to, then press Whakawhiti again to complete (blind transfer) or wait for the party to answer before pressing Whakawhiti (consulted transfer).
  • Huihuinga: I te wa e piihia ana te waea, pehia te Huihuinga soft key or button. Dial the number of the third party, and once connected, press Huihuinga ka uru ano ki nga roopu katoa.
  • Mīhiko: Pehia te Mēra reo button (envelope icon) to access your voicemail messages. Follow the voice prompts.
  • Directory/Contacts: Pehia te Whaiaronga or Hoapā button to access your phone's contact list. Use navigation keys to scroll and select.
  • Hītori Waea: Pehia te Waea History pātene ki view a list of missed, received, and dialed calls.

3.3 Using the Display and Navigation Keys

The monochrome display provides call information, menu options, and status indicators. Use the four-way navigation cluster (up, down, left, right arrows) and the Tīpakohia button in the center to navigate through menus and select options.

3.4 Programmable Keys (L1, L2, etc.)

The Aastra 6731i features several programmable keys (e.g., L1, L2) that can be configured for various functions such as line appearances, speed dials, or feature access codes. The specific function of these keys is typically configured by your system administrator.
