3. Setup and Folding

3.1 Unfolding the Reacher

  1. Hold the handle firmly in one hand and the lower shaft in the other.
  2. Gently extend the two sections of the reacher until they align and the hinge mechanism locks into place. A click may be heard, indicating it is securely extended.
  3. Ensure the reacher is fully extended and stable before use.

3.2 Folding for Storage or Travel

  1. Locate the round blue button on the shaft near the folding hinge.
  2. Press the blue button to disengage the locking mechanism.
  3. Carefully fold the reacher in half until the two sections are parallel.
  4. The folded reacher measures approximately 16 inches, making it suitable for storage in bags or drawers.

4. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

4.1 Grasping an Object

  1. Position the reacher's jaw around the desired object.
  2. Squeeze the trigger on the handle to close the suction cup jaws around the object.
  3. Apply sufficient pressure to secure the object without damaging it. The suction cups provide enhanced grip.

4.2 Using the Lock Grip

  1. Once an object is securely grasped by squeezing the trigger, slide the blue locking mechanism forward (towards the jaw) to maintain the grip without continuous trigger pressure.
  2. To release the object, slide the locking mechanism back (towards the handle) and then release the trigger.

4.3 Rotating the Jaw

The jaw of the reacher can rotate 360 degrees to accommodate various angles and object orientations. Gently twist the jaw assembly to adjust its position as needed before grasping an item.
