Tatūnga me te Runanga
The ECHO SRM-225I requires some assembly before first use. Follow these steps carefully:
- Wewete ana: Kia ata tangohia nga waahanga katoa mai i te kete. Manatokohia kei reira nga waahanga katoa kua whakarārangihia ki te raarangi whakaemi.
- Tautanga Kakau: Attach the D-handle to the shaft at a comfortable operating position. Ensure all bolts are securely tightened.
- Huihuinga Kaitiaki: Securely attach the debris shield/guard to the trimmer head assembly using the provided hardware. This guard is crucial for operator safety.
- Whakaranu wahie: This is a 2-stroke engine. Mix unleaded gasoline with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at the ratio specified in the engine manual (typically 50:1 or 40:1). Never use straight gasoline.
- Whakawa hinu: Fill the fuel tank with the correctly mixed fuel. Do not overfill.
- Raina kuti: Ensure the trimmer head is properly loaded with the correct diameter trimmer line. Refer to the trimmer head instructions for specific loading procedures.

- Primer Bulb: Press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible and flowing freely in the return line.

- Starting Rope: Hold the trimmer firmly on the ground. Pull the starter rope with a smooth, steady motion until the engine fires (usually 1-3 pulls).
- Kōkō Wāhanga: Once the engine fires, move the choke lever to the "HALF CHOKE" position.
- Whakawera: Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts and runs. Allow the engine to warm up for 30-60 seconds.
- Run Position: Move the choke lever to the "RUN" position. The engine should now run smoothly.

- Te Motini Horoi: Use a side-to-side sweeping motion to cut grass and weeds.
- Te Tapahi Te Rahi: Maintain a consistent cutting height by keeping the trimmer head level with the ground.
- Tapa: For edging, tilt the trimmer head to a vertical position and walk along the edge of sidewalks or driveways.
- Raina whakamua: If the trimmer line becomes too short, tap the trimmer head gently on the ground while the engine is running at full throttle to advance more line (Tap-and-Go system).

To stop the engine, simply move the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your ECHO SRM-225I string trimmer. Always turn off the engine and allow it to cool before performing any maintenance.
- Tātari hau: Clean the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. Remove the filter cover, clean the filter element with warm, soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry completely before reinstallation. Replace if damaged.
- Puru korakora: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean any carbon deposits and adjust the gap if necessary. Replace the spark plug annually or if performance degrades.
