- Utu Pūhiko: Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. Place the Roomba on its Home Base. The CLEAN button will pulse amber while charging and turn solid green when fully charged. A full charge can take up to 3 hours.
- Position Home Base: Place the Home Base on a hard, level surface against a wall. Ensure there is at least 1.5 feet (0.5 meters) of clear space on each side of the Home Base and 4 feet (1.2 meters) in front of it. Keep the area clear of obstacles and virtual walls.

- Pūoko Ma: Wipe the charging contacts on the robot and Home Base, and the cliff sensors on the bottom of the robot, with a clean, dry cloth.
