Whakaahua 1: Mua view of the Jensen JCR-310 AM/FM Stereo Dual Alarm Clock Radio. The top panel features the top-loading CD player compartment, along with various control buttons such as SNOOZE/SLEEP, OPEN, PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, and tuning/volume controls.

- PAHI/PAUSE PAHI: Initiates or pauses CD playback.

Connect the AC power cord to a standard AC 120V~60Hz wall outlet. The unit is now powered for operation.

For clock and alarm memory backup during power outages, install 2 x 'AA' (UM-3) batteries (not included). The battery compartment is located under the CD lid. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -) when inserting batteries.

The JCR-310 supports CD-R/RW discs.

3. Whakauru Awhina
Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack on the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). Press the TE MANA/TARI button repeatedly to select AUX mode. Audio from the external device will play through the JCR-310 speakers. Control playback from your external device.
4. Nga Mahi Whakaoho
The JCR-310 features dual alarms (AL1 and AL2). The unit operates in two main modes: Aratau Karaka (when the unit is off, displaying time) and Aratau Ataata (when the unit is on, playing radio, CD, or AUX). Some buttons perform different functions depending on the active mode.
- Preparing for CD/Radio Alarm:
- If you intend to wake to CD, first switch the unit to CD mode (Audio Mode), load your desired CD, and set the playback volume to a comfortable level.
- If you intend to wake to Radio, first switch the unit to Radio mode (Audio Mode), tune to your desired station, and set the playback volume to a comfortable level.
- Once prepared, turn the unit off (return to Clock Mode) before setting the alarm.
- Te Whakatakoto i te Wā Whakaoho:
- In Aratau Karaka, pehia me te pupuri i te PANUI 1 or PANUI 2 pātene.

- Selecting Alarm Source (Wake to CD/Radio/Buzzer):
- After confirming the alarm time, press the OHO OHO 1/2 button repeatedly to cycle through the wake modes: Buzzer (B), Radio (R), or CD (C). The selected mode will be indicated on the display (e.g., AL1-B, AL1-R, AL1-C).
- Whakahohe/Whakaweto Whakaoho: Pehia te PANUI 1 or PANUI 2 button briefly (do not hold) to toggle the alarm on or off. The alarm indicator (AL1 or AL2) will appear/disappear on the display.
- Mahinga Tohu: Ka tangi ana te whakaoho, paatohia te MOE/MOE button to temporarily silence it for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after this period.
- Whakamutua te Whakaoho: To turn off the alarm completely for the day, pehi me te pupuri te TE MANA/TARI button. The alarm will reset for the next day. A brief press of the POWER/STANDBY button will only change modes.
- Waka Moe: When the unit is playing (CD, Radio, or AUX), press the MOE/MOE button repeatedly to set a sleep timer (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, or OFF). The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.
