3. Tatūnga
- Wewete Waenga: Carefully remove the microphone, stand adapter, and carrying case from their packaging.
- Attach Stand Adapter: Screw the microphone stand adapter onto a compatible microphone stand.
- Maunga Whakaoho: Gently insert the microphone into the stand adapter. Ensure it is securely held.
- Honoa te taura XLR: Connect a standard 3-pin XLR cable (not included) to the XLR output connector at the base of the microphone. Connect the other end of the XLR cable to your audio mixer, ampkaiwhakarewa, atanga ororongo ranei.
- Te Hiko (mehemea e tika ana): Ensure your connected audio equipment is powered on and configured for microphone input.

- Whakawhiti Kaha: The DM-58-B features an ON/OFF switch on its body. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the microphone. Slide it to 'OFF' when not in use to prevent unwanted noise and save power on connected devices if applicable.
- Whakatakotoranga hopuoro: For optimal sound quality and to minimize feedback, position the microphone approximately 2-6 inches (5-15 cm) from the sound source. Due to its supercardioid polar pattern, the microphone is most sensitive to sounds directly in front of it and rejects sounds from the sides and rear.
- Whiwhi Whakatikatika: Adjust the input gain on your mixer or audio interface to achieve a clear signal without clipping (distortion). Start with the gain low and gradually increase it while speaking or singing into the microphone.
- Mana Urupare: The supercardioid pattern helps reduce feedback. If feedback occurs, try repositioning the microphone, reducing the monitor volume, or using an equalizer to cut problematic frequencies.
