- From the Exterior (Keypad): Press the Lock button (the 'A' symbol) on the keypad. The deadbolt will extend, securing the door.

SmartKey Re-keying
The Weiser SmartCode 5 features SmartKey Security, allowing you to re-key your lock to a new key in seconds. This is particularly useful if you lose a key, wish to match your lock to an existing key from another Weiser SmartKey lock, or need to revoke access from a previous key holder.
Re-keying Process
- Insert your currently working key fully into the cylinder.
- Turn the key 90 degrees clockwise.
- Insert the SmartKey tool fully into the SmartKey hole on the cylinder face.
- Remove the SmartKey tool.
