5. Tatūnga
5.1. Tāuta Pūhiko
- Me whakaweto te mita maha.
- Kimihia te taupoki o te wāhanga pākahiko kei muri o te waeine.
- Whakamahia he tīwiri hei wetekina i ngā tīwiri e mau ana i te taupoki.
- Remove the cover and insert four (4) AAA batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the cover and secure it with the screw(s).
5.2. Te hono i nga Kaitohu Whakamatau
Insert the test leads into the appropriate input terminals:
- Honoa tonutia te taura whakamātautau pango ki te COM kāpeka.
- Mo te voltage, resistance, continuity, diode, capacitance, and frequency measurements, connect the red test lead to the V Ω •))) →|← •F Hz kāpeka.
- For current measurements (up to 10A), connect the red test lead to the A kāpeka.
6. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
Before making any measurement, ensure the test leads are correctly connected and the rotary switch is set to the appropriate function.
6.1. Measuring AC/DC Voltage (V~ / V-)
- Whakatakotoria te pana hurihuri ki V~ mo AC voltage ranei V- mo DC voltage.
- Honoa ngā taura whakamātautau kia whakarara puta noa i te ara iahiko, i te wāhanga rānei e inehia ana.
- Pānuihia te voltage uara kei runga i te whakaaturanga.
6.2. Measuring AC/DC Current (A~ / A-)
WARNING: Never connect the multimeter in parallel across a voltage source when in current measurement mode. This can cause a short circuit and damage the meter or circuit.
- Turn OFF power to the circuit.
- Whakatakotoria te pana hurihuri ki A~ for AC current or A- for DC current.
- Connect the multimeter in series with the circuit, breaking the circuit to insert the meter.
- Hoatu te mana ki te ara iahiko.
- Pānuihia te uara o nāianei i te whakaaturanga.
6.3. Measuring Resistance (Ω)
- Me whakarite kua whakakorea te hiko o te ara iahiko, o te wāhanga rānei.
- Whakatakotoria te pana hurihuri ki Ω.
- Honoa nga kaiarahi whakamatautau puta noa i te waahanga.
- Panuihia te uara aukati kei runga i te whakaaturanga.
6.4. Continuity Test (•))) )
- Me whakarite kua whakakorea te hiko o te ara iahiko, o te wāhanga rānei.
- Whakatakotoria te pana hurihuri ki •))).
- Connect the test leads across the component or wire.
- Ka puta he pī e tohu ana i te haere tonu (he iti te ātete). Ka whakaatuhia te uara ātete e te mata.
6.5. Diode Test (→|←)
- Ensure the diode is de-energized and isolated from the circuit.
- Whakatakotoria te pana hurihuri ki →|←.
- Connect the red lead to the anode and the black lead to the cathode. A forward voltage drop (e.g., 0.5V to 0.8V) should be displayed.
- Reverse the leads. The display should show OL (Open Loop) for a good diode.
6.6. Te Inenga Unga (F)
