- Kōkuhu Kāri Pūmahara: Locate the SD/SDHC memory card slot or USB port on the back of the frame. Insert your compatible SD/SDHC card with the gold contacts facing up, or plug in a USB memory stick. Ensure the memory card is formatted correctly and contains JPEG photo files.
- Tūhono Pūurutau Hiko: Find the DC IN power socket on the back of the frame. Plug the barrel connector of the provided AC power adapter firmly into this socket.
- Whakahiko: Once the power adapter is connected, the frame will automatically power on and begin displaying photos from the inserted memory card or USB stick in a slideshow format.

- Automatic Slideshow: Upon powering on and detecting a compatible memory source, the frame will automatically start a slideshow of your JPEG photos.
- Manual Photo Browsing: To pause the slideshow and browse photos manually, press the 'Play/Pause' button (often indicated by a triangle or two vertical bars). Use the arrow keys (Up, Down, Left, Right) on the back of the frame to navigate through your photos.
- Hiko Whakaka/Weto: To turn the photo frame off, press the 'Power' button (usually a circle with a vertical line) located on the back of the frame. Press it again to turn the frame back on.
- Aratau: The frame supports various modes including slideshow, clock, and calendar. Refer to the on-screen menu (accessible via the 'Menu' or 'Enter' button) for specific settings and navigation within these modes.
