Follow these steps to set up your Mitel Aastra 6869i telephone.

  2. Honoa te Pukoro: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the back of the phone unit (marked with a handset icon).

    • Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the back of the phone (marked with a network icon).

    • Note: If your network supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), the phone will power on automatically.

  6. Whakaara Tuatahi: The phone will power on and begin its boot sequence. This may take a few minutes. The display will show the boot progress and then the main idle screen once connected to the network and registered with your SIP server.

Advanced Call Functions

Using the Display and Soft Keys

The color display provides visual information about calls, menus, and phone status. The soft keys located directly below the display change their function based on the current context. Their labels on the screen indicate their current action (e.g., Pickup, Conf, Xfer, Voicemail, Home).

To access your voicemail, press the dedicated Mēra reo button. Follow the audio prompts to listen to messages, change greetings, or adjust settings.

Whaiaronga/Hoapā

Access your phone's directory by pressing the Whaiaronga soft key or a dedicated button (if configured). Use the navigation cluster to scroll through contacts and press the Waea soft key to initiate a call.

Mana Rōrahi

Adjust the volume during a call using the Rōrahi Whakarunga a Rōrahi Whakararo buttons. When the phone is idle, these buttons control the ringer volume.
