4. Tatūnga me te Tāuta

Follow these steps for proper installation of the fill valve:

  1. Whakawetohia te Wai: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your toilet or the entire house and turn it off. Flush the toilet to empty the cistern.
  2. Tangohia te Takirere Whakakī Tawhito: Disconnect the water supply line from the bottom of the old fill valve. Unscrew the retaining nut from underneath the cistern and remove the old valve.
  3. Whakaritea te Takirere Whakakī Hou: Ensure the rubber washer is correctly seated on the brass shank of the new Flomasta fill valve.
  4. Insert New Fill Valve: Insert the brass shank of the new fill valve through the hole at the bottom of the toilet cistern.
  5. Takiuru Haumaru: From underneath the cistern, thread the retaining nut onto the brass shank and tighten it by hand. Use a wrench for a final quarter turn, being careful not to overtighten.
  6. Whakarite Teitei: The valve's installation height is adjustable from 203mm to 323mm. To adjust, twist the float mechanism to unlock, slide the upper part of the valve to the desired height, and then twist to lock it in place.
  7. Tūhono Tuku Wai: Reconnect the water supply line to the brass shank of the new fill valve. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
  8. Whakakāhia te Pūnaha Wai: Slowly turn the main water supply back on and check for any leaks around the connections.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

Once installed, the Flomasta fill valve operates automatically to refill the toilet cistern after each flush. The water level is controlled by the float mechanism.

Adjusting Water Level:

The water work-line adjustable height is between 125mm and 260mm. To adjust the water level in the cistern:

  1. Locate the float mechanism on the side of the fill valve.
  2. Gently twist the float mechanism to unlock its position.
  3. Slide the float up or down to achieve the desired water level. Moving the float up will increase the water level, and moving it down will decrease it.
  4. Once the desired level is set, twist the float mechanism back to lock it securely in place.
  5. Flush the toilet to test the new water level. Make further adjustments if necessary.

Regular maintenance can help prolong the life of your fill valve and prevent common issues.
