Failure to operate this product in a safe and responsible manner could result in injury or damage to the product or other property. This product is intended for users 14 years and up. Always read and follow all instructions and warnings before use.

3. Aratohu Tatūnga

Follow these steps to prepare your Revo 3.3 for its first run:

  1. Utu Pūhiko: Fully charge the included NiMH receiver pack and EZ-Start battery using the provided 2-amp DC Peak Detecting Fast Charger. Refer to the charger's instructions for proper charging procedures.
  2. Install Receiver Battery: Open the receiver box and connect the charged receiver battery. Securely close the receiver box to protect electronics from dirt and moisture.
  3. Tāuta Pūhiko Mana Mamao: Insert four AA batteries (not included) into the TQi 2.4GHz transmitter.
  4. Whakawa hinu: Using the premium fuel dispensing bottle, carefully fill the Revo 3.3's fuel tank with high-quality nitro fuel (20-33% nitromethane content recommended). Ensure the fuel cap is securely closed.
  5. Initial Engine Prime: Before starting the engine for the first time or after a long storage period, it's necessary to prime the fuel system.

    • Pull the EZ-Start handle several times until fuel is visible in the fuel line leading to the carburetor.

4. Operating Your Revo 3.3

The Traxxas Revo 3.3 is designed for high-performance off-road driving. Familiarize yourself with the controls before operating in open areas.

  1. Mahi Mana Mamao:
    • Turn on the transmitter first, then the receiver on the truck.
    • The trigger controls throttle (forward) and brake/reverse (backward).
    • The steering wheel controls left and right movement.
    • Adjust steering trim on the transmitter if the vehicle does not track straight.
  2. Ka timata te Mihini:
    • Ensure the fuel tank is full and the engine is primed.
    • Attach the EZ-Start igniter to the glow plug.
    • Press and hold the EZ-Start button on the transmitter. The engine should start within a few seconds.
    • Once started, remove the EZ-Start igniter.
  3. taraiwa: Gradually apply throttle to accelerate. The Revo 3.3 features a heavy-duty reversing transmission, allowing you to switch between forward and reverse with a flick of a switch on the transmitter.

  • After Each Run:
    • Clean the vehicle: Remove dirt, mud, and debris from the chassis, suspension, and engine. Use compressed air or a soft brush.
    • Inspect for damage: Check for loose screws, damaged parts, or worn tires.
    • Empty fuel tank: Do not leave fuel in the tank for extended periods.
    • Charge batteries: Recharge the receiver and EZ-Start batteries.

    • Air Filter: Clean and re-oil the air filter regularly, especially after dusty conditions. A dirty air filter can severely impact engine performance and life.
    • Glow Plug: Inspect the glow plug for wear. Replace if the element is broken or corroded.
    • After-Run Oil: Apply a few drops of after-run oil into the carburetor after the last run of the day to protect internal engine components from corrosion.
  • Whakatarewa: Check the shock absorbers for leaks and ensure smooth operation. Inspect the long travel rocker arms for any signs of wear or damage.
