2.2 Initial Pairing with Xbox One
The PDP Talon Media Remote uses infrared (IR) technology and typically does not require manual pairing with your Xbox One console. It should function immediately upon battery installation, provided your Xbox One's IR receiver is unobstructed.
- Ensure your Xbox One console is powered on.
- Point the remote directly at the front of your Xbox One console.
- Press any button (e.g., the Xbox Guide button) to test functionality.
Tuhipoka: For optimal performance, ensure a clear line of sight between the remote and the Xbox One's IR receiver. If your Xbox One is in a cabinet, an external IR extender (not included) may be required.

3.1 Whakaterenga Taketake
- Papa-D (Papa Aronga): Use the up, down, left, and right arrows to navigate menus and select items.

The remote features dedicated buttons for media playback:
- Purei/Tatari: Start or pause playback of media.
- Aukati: End media playback.
- Tere Whakamua/Whakahoki: Skip forward or backward through media content.
- Peke Whakamua/Whakamuri: Jump to the next or previous track/chapter.

3.3 TV Controls
The remote can control basic TV functions through your Xbox One's IR capabilities (if configured):
- Rōrahi Whakarunga/Whakararo: Adjust the television volume.
- Hongere Whakarunga/Whakararo: Change television channels.
- Wahangu: Mute or unmute television audio.
Tuhipoka: TV control functionality relies on your Xbox One's ability to send IR signals to your TV. This may require initial setup within your Xbox One's settings (e.g., TV & OneGuide settings) and a clear line of sight to your TV's IR receiver.
