The WS1 supports external DS18B20 temperature probes for extended monitoring capabilities, powered by either 2 AA batteries or a DC5V2A Micro USB connection.

4. Tohutohu Tatūnga

  1. Download the UbiBot App: Install the UbiBot app on your iOS (version 11 or later) or Android (version 8.1 or later) device.
  2. Waihanga Pūkete: Open the app and follow the prompts to create a new UbiBot account.
  3. Hiko i te Pūrere: Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries (not included) or connect the device to a Micro USB power source.
  4. Hono ki WiFi: Use the UbiBot app to scan the QR code on your WS1 device. The app will guide you through connecting the WS1 to your 2.4GHz WiFi network. Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz, as 5GHz networks are not supported. The device does not support WPA2-Enterprise or WPA3 networks, nor web-based WiFi authentication (common in hotels or universities).
  5. Initial Data Sync: Once connected, the device will begin uploading data to the UbiBot cloud platform.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

After successful setup, you can monitor and manage your UbiBot WS1 device through the mobile app or the web papatohu.

5.1 Arotake Mamao

Access real-time and historical data from anywhere in the world using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. The UbiBot cloud platform provides advanced data analysis and visualization.

5.2 Data Visualization and Export

The platform allows you to view data in graphical format and export reports in PDF or CSV formats for detailed analysis.

5.3 Setting Up Alerts

Configure custom alerts based on specific thresholds for temperature, humidity, or other monitored parameters. You can also set alerts for network disconnection or low battery.

Alerts can be delivered through multiple channels:

  • In-app notifications
  • Īmēra
  • IFTTT notifications
  • SMS text messages (may incur charges)
  • Voice calls (may incur charges)

6. Tiaki

6.1 Tuku Hiko

The UbiBot WS1 can be powered by two AAA alkaline batteries or a Micro USB cable (DC5V2A). When using batteries, the data synchronization interval can be adjusted to balance battery life and data acquisition frequency. For example, a 15-minute sync interval can provide 4-6 months of battery life.

6.2 Tikanga Taiao

The recommended operating conditions for the WS1 are -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) and 10% to 90% RH (non-condensing). Sensor accuracy may be affected by extreme environmental conditions. Avoid using the device outside these recommended ranges.

Important: The UbiBot WS1 is NOT waterproof. Avoid exposure to water or use in environments with extremely high humidity (above 90% RH) for prolonged periods, as this can damage the circuit board and cause electrical leakage. Do not use outdoors without adequate protection from the elements.

6.3 Te horoi

To clean the device, gently wipe it with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

7. Te Raru

  • Kaore te taputapu e hono ana ki WiFi: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. The WS1 does not support 5GHz networks, WPA2-Enterprise (802.1x/RADIUS authentication), WPA3 networks, or web-based WiFi authentication. Verify your WiFi password and network stability.
  • Ko nga panui kore tika: Ensure the device is placed within the recommended operating conditions. Extreme temperatures or humidity levels outside the specified range can affect sensor accuracy. If using in extreme environments, consider connecting an external temperature probe.
  • No data synchronization: Check your WiFi connection. If the network is stable, verify that the device has sufficient battery power or is connected to a Micro USB power source. The device has onboard memory to store data during network outages, which will upload once connectivity is restored.
  • Kāore i tae mai ngā whakatūpato: Check your alert settings in the UbiBot app or web console. Ensure your contact information (email, phone number) is correct and that app notifications are enabled on your mobile device. Remember that SMS and voice call alerts may require credits in your UbiBot account.
  • Account creation issues: If you encounter problems creating an account, ensure you have a stable internet connection and are using a supported mobile operating system (iOS 11+ or Android 8.1+). Contact UbiBot support if issues persist.
