4. Tatūnga
4.1. Assembling the Base Stand
- Align the tabs on the base stand with the slots on the back of the phone unit.
- Gently push the stand into place until it clicks securely. Ensure the stand is firmly attached to provide stable support.
4.2. Te Hono i te Waea
- Honoa te Pukoro: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone base (typically marked with a handset icon).
- Hono atu ki te Whatunga: Insert one end of the Cat5 Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the back of the phone (refer to Figure 3.5) and the other end into your network switch or router.
- Hononga Hiko:
- Hiko i runga Itarangi (POE): If your network switch supports POE, the phone will power on automatically once the Ethernet cable is connected. No separate power adapter is needed.
- External Power Adapter (Optional): If POE is not available, connect a compatible Mitel power adapter (sold separately) to the power port on the back of the phone and then to a power outlet.
- Whakaara Tuatahi: The phone will begin its boot-up sequence. This may take a few minutes as it connects to the network and registers with your communication system.
