The StarTech.com RKCONS1901 is a 1U rack-mount KVM console designed to provide complete keyboard, monitor, and mouse control for a single server or multiple servers when connected through a separate KVM switch (sold separately). This space-efficient solution features a built-in 19-inch LCD display, a full keyboard, and a touchpad, all housed within a durable steel drawer that slides into 1U of rack space.

Follow these steps to properly install your StarTech.com RKCONS1901 KVM Console into a server rack and connect it to your equipment.

3.1 Whakapiki Rack

The KVM console is designed to fit into a standard 1U rack space. Ensure your rack has sufficient depth and mounting points.

  1. Slide the KVM console into the desired 1U rack space.
  2. Secure the console to the rack using the provided M5 cage nuts and M5 screws. Ensure both sides are firmly attached to prevent movement.

3.2 Hononga taura

Connect the necessary cables to the rear of the KVM console and your server or KVM switch.

  1. Connect the provided 6 ft [1.8 m] KVM cable to the single port on the rear of the KVM console.
  2. Connect the other end of the KVM cable to the VGA and USB ports of your server or KVM switch.
  3. Connect the power cable to the KVM console and a power outlet.

Once installed and connected, the KVM console is ready for operation.

4.1 Opening and Closing the Console

  1. To open the console, pull the handle to slide the drawer out of the rack.
  2. Lift the LCD panel to an upright position.
  3. To close, fold down the LCD panel and push the drawer back into the rack until it locks securely.
