Cold Start (First start of the day or after a long period of inactivity):

- Whakauruhia te pakaru mekameka by pushing the front hand guard forward.

- Toia te whakakowaowaotia to the FULL CHOKE position.

- Hold the front handle firmly with one hand and pull the kapo timata briskly until the engine fires (usually a few pulls).
- Once the engine fires, immediately push the whakakowaowaotia to the HALF CHOKE or RUN position.
- Toia te kapo timata again until the engine starts and runs smoothly.
- Briefly blip the keu matere to disengage the half-choke.

Warm Start (Engine is already warm from recent use):
