1. Kupu Whakataki

The TOPENS AD5S Automatic Gate Opener Kit is designed for medium-duty dual swing gates. This system provides automated access control for gates up to 16 feet in length or a maximum weight of 550 pounds per gate leaf. It is engineered for reliable and convenient operation, suitable for residential areas, courtyards, ranches, and farms.

The kit includes two 24VDC 50W motors and is compatible with various power sources including AC electricity, batteries, and solar power. Key features include advanced security code technology, electromagnetism limit switches, obstacle detection with stop-and-reverse function, auto-close, and soft start/soft stop for extended motor lifespan.

• Read and understand all instructions before installation and use.
• Ensure the gate is properly installed and in good working condition before installing the opener.

4. Tatūnga me te Tāuta

The TOPENS AD5S gate opener is designed for easy installation, requiring only basic tools. Detailed step-by-step guidance is available in the comprehensive user manual provided with the kit.

4.1 Gate Compatibility

The AD5S is suitable for dual swing gates with a maximum length of 16 feet or a maximum weight of 550 pounds per gate leaf. For solid or heavy-duty gates, alternative TOPENS models may be recommended.

4.2 Aratau Hiko

The system offers flexible power options:

• Solar Panels and Batteries: Utilizes the included 10W solar panels and solar charge controller. Requires two 12V automotive/marine type batteries (not included).
• AC Electricity and Batteries: Can be powered by AC electricity using a DPS180-U AC-DC Power Supply (not included) and two 12V batteries (not included) for backup.
• AC Electricity, Solar Panels, and Backup Batteries: A combination of all power sources for maximum reliability.

4.3 Momo Tāuta

The AD5S supports both Pull-to-Open and Push-to-Open installation modes, allowing the gate to swing inward or outward based on your preference and gate structure.

4.4 Actuator and Control Box Dimensions

The actuator arms have a fully extended length of 48.4 inches (1230mm) and a retracted length of 33.7 inches (855mm). The control box measures 6.3 x 6.3 x 2.8 inches (160 x 160 x 70mm).

5.1 Mahi Mana Mamao

The gate opener is operated using the provided remote controls. Pressing the designated button on the remote will initiate the gate opening or closing sequence. The remotes utilize advanced TOPENS code technology for secure access.

5.2 Āhuatanga Haumaru

• Electromagnetism Limit Switch: Easily adjustable for precise gate positioning.
• Stop-and-Reverse Function: Detects obstacles during gate operation and reverses direction to prevent damage or injury.
• Āhuatanga Kati-Aunoa: Automatically closes the gate after a set period, enhancing property security.
• Tīmatanga Mārie me te Mutu Mārie: Ensures smooth gate movement, reducing wear and tear on the motor and extending its lifespan.

5.3 Tuku A-ringa

• Maa nga Paewhiri Solar: Keep solar panels clean from dust, dirt, and snow to ensure efficient charging.
