3. Tatūnga me te Tāuta

Follow these steps to properly install your new hot tub filter cartridge:

  1. Weto Whakakore: Ensure your hot tub's power supply is completely turned off before beginning any installation or maintenance.
  2. Kimihia te Whare Tātari: Identify the filter housing unit in your hot tub. This is typically accessible from inside the tub or via an external panel.
  3. Tango Tātari Tawhito: Unscrew or unclip the filter housing cover. Carefully remove the old, dirty filter cartridge. Dispose of it according to local regulations.
  4. Whare Ma: Briefly clean the filter housing area to remove any accumulated debris.
  5. Kōkuhu Tātari Hōu: Place the new WAVE filter cartridge into the housing. Ensure it sits securely and correctly. The filter dimensions are approximately 10cm (4 inches) in diameter and 8cm (3 inches) in height.
  6. Uhi Haumaru: Replace and secure the filter housing cover.
  7. Whakaora i te Mana: Turn the hot tub's power supply back on.

4. Nga Tikanga Whakahaere

The WAVE hot tub filter operates by continuously circulating water through its pleated media. Here's how it works:

  • Te Whakaurunga Wai: Dirty spa water is pulled into the filtration system.
  • Tātari: The water passes through the pleated filter material. As it flows, the filter spins, effectively trapping suspended particles, debris, and contaminants within its folds.
  • Clean Water Return: Once filtered, the clean water flows out of the filter and is returned to the hot tub, often passing through the heater to maintain desired temperature.

  • Roa ora: Filter cartridges typically last between 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on usage, water chemistry, and cleaning frequency.
  • Nga tohu o te kakahu: Replace filters if you notice signs of wear such as torn pleats, persistent cloudy water despite cleaning, or reduced water flow.
