5. Tatūnga

5.1 Charging the Jump Starter Unit

Before first use, fully charge the Einhell CE-JS 18 unit. It is recommended to fully charge the unit after each use and at least every three months to maintain battery health.

  1. Connect the provided 230V power supply cable to the charging input port on the jump starter.

  4. Charging typically takes approximately 6 hours for a full charge from empty. All indicator LEDs will be solid when fully charged.

  2. Turn off the vehicle's ignition and all accessories (lights, radio, etc.).
  3. Honoa te Whero (+) clamp of the jumper cable to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery.
  4. Honoa te KOREHI (-) clamp of the jumper cable to a solid, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's engine block or chassis, away from the battery and fuel lines.
  5. Plug the jumper cable connector into the jump start port on the Einhell CE-JS 18 unit.
  6. Start the vehicle's engine. If it doesn't start immediately, wait 30 seconds and try again. Do not crank for more than 3 seconds per attempt.
  7. Once the vehicle starts, immediately disconnect the jumper cable connector from the Einhell unit.

  • 12V/10A Putanga: Connect compatible 12V devices using the provided adapter cable.
  • 19V/3.5A Putanga: Connect compatible laptops or other devices using the provided adapter cable and appropriate tip.
