4. Tatūnga
The Brook Proskit CP-080E is ready for use out of the box. No assembly is required. Before first use, familiarize yourself with the tool's components and functions.
Adjusting Strip Length:
- Locate the adjustable length stop on the side of the stripping jaws.
- Slide the stop to the desired stripping length. This ensures consistent insulation removal for multiple wires.
Adjusting Stripping Tension:
- For very thin or tough insulation, a tension adjustment knob may be present near the stripping jaws.
- Rotate the knob clockwise to increase tension for tougher insulation, or counter-clockwise to decrease tension for softer insulation, preventing wire damage.

5.1 Wire Stripping
- Open the handles of the tool.
- Insert the wire into the stripping jaws, ensuring the end of the wire aligns with the set length stop.
- Firmly squeeze the handles together. The jaws will automatically grip the insulation, cut it, and pull it away from the conductor.
- Release the handles to retrieve the stripped wire.

5.2 Wire Cutting
- Locate the wire cutting blade, typically positioned between the handles or near the pivot point.
- Place the wire into the cutting blade slot.
- Squeeze the handles firmly to cut the wire.
5.3 Crimping
The tool includes crimping dies for various insulated and non-insulated terminals. Refer to the markings on the tool for appropriate terminal sizes.
- Select the correct crimping die size for your terminal.
- Insert the terminal into the chosen crimping die.
- Insert the stripped wire into the terminal.
- Squeeze the handles firmly until the crimping cycle is complete.
6. Tiaki
