- Follow the numbered threading path down to the tension discs and up to the take-up lever.

- Rēreti Whakahaere Tere: Adjust the sewing speed from slow to a maximum of 1,060 stitches per minute (spm).
- Pātene Whakamuri: Press to sew in reverse, useful for securing stitches.
- Pātene Whakarunga/Whakararo o te Ngira: Controls the needle's resting position.
- Automatic Thread Cutter: Cuts both upper and bobbin threads automatically.
- Mata Paa LCD: Navigate through stitch patterns, adjust settings, and view machine status.

The eXcellence 780 Plus offers a wide variety of stitches for all your creative needs.

- Stitch Library: The machine features 350 stitches, including utility stitches, decorative stitches, 11 buttonhole styles, and 2 alphabets. Refer to the stitch chart located under the top cover for a complete overview.
- Selecting Stitches: Use the LCD touch screen to browse and select your desired stitch pattern.
- Adjusting Stitch Settings: Once a stitch is selected, the machine will display recommended settings for length and width. These can be adjusted via the touch screen to suit your fabric and project requirements.
- Mahi Mahara: Save custom stitch combinations or settings for quick recall.
5.3 Āhuatanga Arā Atu Anō
- Automatic Presser Foot Lift: Some models feature an automatic presser foot lift for hands-free operation.
- Knee Lift: Utilize the knee lift lever for raising and lowering the presser foot, allowing you to keep both hands on your fabric.
- Free Arm Sewing: Remove the accessory tray to convert the machine into a free arm, ideal for sewing cuffs, sleeves, and other small, circular items.
6. Tiaki
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine. Always unplug the machine before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Te horoi
- Bobbin Area: Remove the needle plate and bobbin case. Use the lint brush to remove any lint and dust accumulation.
- Feed Dogs: Clean the area around the feed dogs with the lint brush.
- Miihini Waho: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Replace the needle regularly (after every 8-10 hours of sewing) or if it becomes bent, dull, or broken.
