2. Tatūnga
2.1 Tāuta Pūhiko
The eTrex 22x operates on two AA batteries, providing up to 25 hours of use in GPS mode. For optimal performance, use high-quality alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries.

2.2 Hiko-Whakaahua Tuatahi

3.1 Navigating the Menus
Use the joystick to scroll through menu options and press it to select an item. The Tahua button (left side) provides context-sensitive options, while the Whakamuri button (right side) returns to the previous screen.

3.2 Using Maps
The device comes preloaded with TopoActive maps. To view the map, select the Mapi icon from the main menu. You can zoom in and out using the dedicated zoom buttons on the side of the device. The map displays routable roads, trails, and geographical features.

3.3 Navigation and Waypoints
To navigate to a specific location, you can create waypoints or select a destination from the map. The device will provide turn-by-turn directions or a direct route, depending on your settings.
- Tohu Waahi Ara: Mai i te tahua matua, tohua Tohu Aronga to save your current location.
- Ki hea?: Tīpakohia Ki hea? to search for destinations, including cities, addresses, or saved waypoints.
- Kāpehu: The compass screen provides directional guidance to your destination.

3.4 Satellite Information
The eTrex 22x supports both GPS and GLONASS satellite systems. To view satellite acquisition status and accuracy, select the Satellite icon from the main menu. This feature ensures reliable tracking even in challenging environments like dense forests or deep canyons.
