Once connected and powered on, the Lindy 4 Port HDMI 2.0 18G Splitter operates automatically. The input signal will be duplicated and sent to all four connected displays.

6.1 Whakahaerenga EDID

The EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) switch allows you to control how the splitter communicates with the source device regarding supported resolutions and audio formats. This is crucial for ensuring compatibility and optimal display quality.

  • Aratau STD: Provides a standard 1080p resolution with 2-channel audio. This setting is useful if you encounter compatibility issues with specific displays or sources, or if you require a consistent output resolution across all displays.
  • Aratau TV: The splitter reads the EDID information from the display connected to HDMI PUTA 1 and relays it to the source device. This allows the source to output the highest common resolution and audio format supported by your primary display. If the primary display is disconnected or powered off, the splitter may revert to a default EDID or use the EDID of the next active display.

It is recommended to adjust the EDID switch while the source and displays are connected but before the source outputs video, or to power cycle the source after changing the EDID setting for the changes to take effect.
