3. Tatūnga
3.1 Te Whakakaha i te Taputapu
The Korg i3 can be powered using the included AC adaptor or 6 AA batteries (not included).
- Pūurutau AC: Connect the AC adaptor to the DC IN port on the rear panel of the keyboard and then to a power outlet.
- Pūhiko: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard and insert 6 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
3.2 Hononga Tuatahi
Before powering on, make any necessary audio or MIDI connections.

4. Nga Take Whakahaere
4.1 Hiko / Whakaweto
Press the Power button located on the rear panel to turn the instrument on or off.
4.2 Kōwhiringa Oro
The i3 features 790 instrument sounds and 59 drum kits. Use the category buttons and data dial to browse and select sounds.

4.3 Mana Rōrahi
Adjust the master volume using the dedicated volume knob on the front panel.
4.4 Grand Piano Sound Button
Press the convenient Grand Piano Sound button to quickly return the keyboard to a preset grand piano sound.
5. Āhuatanga Arā
5.1 Ngā Kī e Ārai Ana i te Tere
The 61 velocity-sensitive keys offer 3 touch curves, allowing for expressive playing dynamics. Adjust the touch curve in the system settings to match your playing style.
5.2 Whakahaere Joystick
Utilize the joystick for real-time pitch bend, vibrato, and brilliance control during performance, adding expressive nuances to your music.

5.3 Style Performance Sound Sets
Sounds can be layered together via on-board Style Performance Sound Sets. You can also layer sound sets yourself to create unique textures.
6. Hononga
The Korg i3 offers various connectivity options for integration with other equipment:
- USB: Connect to a computer (Windows, macOS) or iOS device for MIDI communication and data transfer.
- Tāuru Āwhina: Connect external audio devices for playback through the i3's speakers or headphones.
- MIDI Atu: Connect to other MIDI-compatible instruments or devices.
- Jack Potae: A 3.5mm jack is provided for private practice.
- Tāurunga Pātene: Connect an optional sustain pedal for extended note duration.

7. Tiaki
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Korg i3, follow these maintenance guidelines:
