The scale can be powered by either the included AC adapter or 2 x AA batteries (not included).
- AC Whāurutau: For continuous power without auto-shutoff, connect the AC adapter to the scale's power input port and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
- Pūhiko: For portable use, open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale and insert 2 x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. The scale will automatically shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity when battery-powered to conserve energy.

Mahi Tare
The Tare function allows you to weigh items in a container by subtracting the container's weight. Place an empty container on the scale, then press the TARE button. The display will reset to '0.0'. You can then add items to the container, and the scale will display only the net weight of the items.

Counting Function (PCS)
The counting function is useful for determining the number of small, uniform items. To use this feature:
- With the scale on and showing '0.0', press the PCS pātene.
- The display will show a sample size (e.g., '25'). Place the corresponding number of items (e.g., 25 pieces) on the scale.
- Pehia te PCS pēhi anō i te pātene hei whakaū i teample. The scale is now calibrated for counting.
- Add more items, and the display will show the total count of items. (Minimum weight for counting is 25g).

- When powered by the AC adapter, the scale will remain on continuously and will not auto-shut off.
