2. Whakataki Tuatahi

Both the receiver and transmitter are powered by 3.7V lithium batteries. For optimal performance, fully charge both units before first use.

4. Attaching the Microphone Transmitter

The microphone transmitter is designed to clip onto instruments like a saxophone.

  • Carefully open the clip on the transmitter unit.
  • Attach the clip securely to the bell or another suitable part of your instrument, ensuring the microphone capsule is positioned to capture sound effectively without obstructing play.
  • Adjust the flexible gooseneck of the microphone to achieve the desired proximity and angle to the sound source.

5. Pairing and Frequency Synchronization

The system uses IR sync for frequency downloading and a digital ID code to prevent interference.

  • Power on both the receiver and the transmitter.
  • Locate the IR sensor on both units.
  • Align the IR sensors of the receiver and transmitter within close proximity (e.g., 1-2 cm).
  • Initiate the synchronization process (refer to the specific button or sequence on your device, often labeled 'SYNC' or similar). The units will automatically download and match frequencies.
  • Once synchronized, the RF indicator on the receiver should illuminate, indicating a successful connection.

The ACEMIC ST-5 system offers an operating range of up to 40 meters (line-of-sight). Obstacles such as walls, large metal objects, or other wireless devices can reduce this range. Maintain a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver for optimal performance.

  • Recharge the lithium batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when performance degrades.
  • Avoid completely draining the batteries regularly, as this can shorten their lifespan.
  • If storing the unit for an extended period, charge the batteries to approximately 50% and store in a cool, dry place. Recharge every few months to prevent deep discharge.

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the receiver and transmitter.
  • For the microphone foam windscreen, gently remove and clean with mild soap and water if necessary, ensuring it is completely dry before reattaching.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or internal components.

    • Maintain a clear line of sight between the transmitter and receiver. Avoid placing units near large metal objects or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
    • Check the battery levels; low battery can affect signal strength.
