The SPYPOINT Cell-Link is a universal cellular adapter designed to transform most non-cellular trail cameras into cellular game cameras. This innovative device allows you to receive photos from your trail camera directly to your mobile phone via the SPYPOINT app, eliminating the need for frequent trips to retrieve SD cards. It is compatible with most trail cameras that use a standard SD card to store JPEG images and have a resolution of 20 megapixels or less.

2.2 Cell-Link Component Overview

The Cell-Link device features an antenna port, a 12V DC plug for external power sources like solar panels, a battery compartment for 8 AA batteries, and a micro SD card slot. It is crucial to use a Class 10 micro SD card (up to 32GB recommended) for optimal performance and to prevent transmission errors.

2.3 Te Tikanga Whakauru

  1. Kōkuhu Pūhiko: Open the Cell-Link's battery compartment and insert 8 fresh AA batteries.
  2. Kōkuhu Kāri SD Micro: Insert a Class 10 micro SD card (up to 32GB) into the designated slot within the Cell-Link.
  3. Āpiti Antenna: Screw the included antenna into the port on the side of the Cell-Link. Continue screwing until you feel resistance against the rubber gasket, ensuring a waterproof seal and optimal signal reception.
  4. Mount Cell-Link: Securely mount the Cell-Link to a tree using the provided strap or a compatible cable lock. Position it above your host trail camera for best results.
  5. Connect to Host Camera: Insert the provided SD card adapter cable into your host trail camera's standard SD card slot. Connect the other end of the cable to the Cell-Link's designated port. Ensure the cable is routed to avoid interfering with the host camera's sensors or lens.
  6. Activate via App: Power on the Cell-Link. Open the SPYPOINT app on your smartphone and select the option to activate a new camera. Scan the QR code located on the Cell-Link device.
  7. Tirohia te Kaha Waitohu: The Cell-Link features five indicator lights for signal strength. Aim for at least three bars for reliable photo transmission.
  8. Verify Transmission: Wave your hand in front of the host camera to trigger a photo. Check your SPYPOINT app to confirm successful photo transmission before leaving the field.
