This satellite is compatible with select Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 Systems, specifically models MK62 and MK63.

Follow these steps to add your MS60 satellite to your existing Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System:

  1. Whakahiko: Plug the MS60 satellite into a power outlet. Wait for the LED on the satellite to light up.

4. Operating the MS60 Satellite

Once set up, the MS60 satellite operates as an integral part of your Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System. It automatically extends your WiFi signal, creating a single, unified network name (SSID) across your entire home.

Tohu LED:

The LED on the front of the satellite indicates its status:

  • Kikorangi mārō: Good connection to the Nighthawk router/system.
  • Amber totoka: Fair connection. Consider relocating the satellite closer to the router/system.
  • Solid Magenta: No connection to the Nighthawk router/system. Relocate the satellite or check the main system status.
  • Weto: Satellite is powered off.

Tauranga Itarangi:

The MS60 satellite includes one Gigabit Ethernet port. This port can be used to connect wired devices such as gaming consoles, smart TVs, or desktop computers directly to your mesh network for a stable and high-speed connection.

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your NETGEAR Nighthawk MS60 satellite, regular maintenance is recommended:

  • Whakahōu Firmware: Regularly check for and install firmware updates via the Nighthawk app. Updates often include performance improvements, security enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Te horoi: Keep the satellite clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Whakahau: Ensure the satellite is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from obstructions that could block airflow. Proper ventilation prevents overheating and maintains performance.
  • Hurihanga Hiko: If you experience minor connectivity issues, try power cycling the satellite by unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.

If you encounter issues with your MS60 satellite, refer to the following troubleshooting tips:

    • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the satellite and a working power outlet.

  • Solid Magenta LED (No Connection):
    • Relocate the satellite closer to your Nighthawk router or another existing satellite.

    • Try resynchronizing the satellite using the Nighthawk app or by pressing the Sync button on both the satellite and the main router.
  • Solid Amber LED (Fair Connection):
    • Move the satellite closer to your Nighthawk router or another existing satellite to improve signal strength.
    • Avoid placing the satellite near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other electronic devices that might cause interference.
  • Slow Speeds/Intermittent Connectivity:
    • Check the LED status for optimal placement (Solid Blue).
    • Ensure your main Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System is receiving adequate internet speed from your ISP.
    • Perform a firmware update on both the satellite and the main router.
    • Reduce the number of devices connected to the network if possible, or consider adding more satellites for larger homes.
  • Tautuhi wheketere: If all else fails, you can perform a factory reset on the satellite. Use a paperclip to press and hold the Reset button on the back of the satellite for about 7-10 seconds until the LED flashes. Note that this will erase all custom settings, and you will need to set up the satellite again.
