2. Tatūnga
- Wewete ana: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present: the glass vessel, the frother lid with its internal components, and any accompanying cleaning tools.
- Te horoi tuatahi: Before first use, wash the glass vessel and the frother lid components with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Whakanoho Miihini: Ensure your Lavazza Classy Plus Coffee Machine LB 400 is placed on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.
- Tāke Wai: Fill the coffee machine's water tank with fresh, cold water up to the maximum level indicated.
- Whakahiko: Plug in the coffee machine and press the ON/OFF button. The button lights will blink during warm-up. The machine is ready once the lights stop blinking.
- First Use Rinse (without capsule): Place an empty mug under the coffee machine's dispenser. Press the "Coffee 8 oz." button twice without inserting a capsule to rinse the internal circuits. Discard the water.

3. Mahi
3.1. Preparing Coffee (without milk)
- Raise the Lever: Lift the chrome lever on the coffee machine.
- Kōkuhu Capsule: Place a Lavazza Expert capsule (e.g., Espresso, Lungo, Coffee 8 oz.) into the designated slot.
- Close Lever: Lower the chrome lever firmly.
- Kapu Wahi: Position your cup under the coffee dispenser.
- Tīpako Inu: Press the desired coffee button (Espresso, Lungo, or Coffee 8 oz.). The machine will automatically brew your coffee.
3.2. Preparing Milk-Based Beverages (with Expert Vessel)
- Fill Vessel with Milk: Pour the appropriate amount of milk into the glass vessel according to the desired recipe (Macchiato, Cappuccino, or Latte). The vessel has markings for each.
- Attach Frother Lid: Securely place the frother lid onto the glass vessel. Ensure the spout is correctly aligned to connect with the machine.
- Whakatakoto Waka: Position the filled glass vessel with the frother lid in the designated space on the coffee machine.
- Insert Espresso Capsule: Raise the chrome lever, insert an Espresso or Espresso x2 capsule, and lower the lever.
- Select Milk Beverage: Press the desired milk beverage button (Macchiato, Cappuccino, or Latte). The machine will automatically froth the milk and brew the coffee into the vessel. Do not remove the vessel until brewing is complete (the machine will beep).
- Optional Double Shot: For a stronger milk-based beverage, press the "Double Shot" button before selecting your milk recipe.
3.3. Programming Coffee Selections
You can customize the volume of your coffee beverages:
- Tīmata Whakahōtaka: Press and hold the desired coffee selection button (Espresso, Lungo, or Coffee 8 oz.). Brewing will start after approximately 3 seconds.
- Whakaritea Rōrahi: Continue holding the button until the desired amount of coffee is dispensed into your cup.
- Tiaki Tautuhinga: Release the button. The machine will save this new volume setting for future use.
4. Tiaki
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Lavazza coffee machine and vessel.
4.1. Te Whakapai i Ia Ra
- Glass Vessel and Frother Lid: After each use, disassemble and wash the glass vessel and frother lid components with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. These parts are generally dishwasher safe.
- Pata Taka: Ringihia te wai, horoia hoki te paepae maturuturu i ia wā, i ia wā, hei ārai i te waipuke, hei pupuri hoki i te akuaku.
- Ipu Capsule kua whakamahia: Empty the used capsule container when full or regularly to prevent mold growth.
- Waho: Horoia te taha o waho o te miihini ki te ngohengohe, damp kakahu. Kaua e whakamahi i nga kai horoi me nga whakarewa.
4.2. Whakaheke
Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain brewing quality. The machine will indicate when descaling is needed (refer to Troubleshooting section).
- Whakapaia te Otinga Whakakorea: Follow the instructions on a suitable descaling solution for coffee machines.
- Whakakihia te Taaka Wai: Ringihia te otinga whakaheke ki roto i te puna wai.
- Tīmatahia te Whakakore i te Porohita: Refer to your main Lavazza Classy Plus Machine manual for specific descaling instructions, as the process may vary. This typically involves pressing a combination of buttons to initiate a descaling cycle.
- Horoi Porohita: After the descaling cycle, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run several rinse cycles (without capsules) to remove any residual descaling solution.
5. Te Raru
The machine's control panel uses indicator lights to alert you to common issues:
- Empty Water Tank Warning: An indicator light (often a water drop icon) will illuminate if the water tank is empty or below the minimum level.
Solution: Refill the water tank with fresh water. - Used Capsule Container Full Warning: An indicator light (often a capsule bin icon) will illuminate when the used capsule container is full.
Solution: Empty the used capsule container and clean it. - Descaling Needed: An indicator light (often a series of dots or a specific symbol) will illuminate when descaling is required.
Solution: Perform a descaling cycle as described in the Maintenance section.
