5.1 Te Mana Hononga
- Connect the provided Micro USB cable to the charger's input port.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, computer USB port, power bank, car charger). The charger requires a 5V input.
- The LCD display will illuminate, indicating the charger is powered on.

5.2 Te Whakauru Pahiko
- Insert one to four AA or AAA Ni-MH/Ni-CD rechargeable batteries into the charging slots.
- Ensure the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the batteries match the polarity indicators in the charger slots.
- The charger will automatically detect the battery type and display its current status on the LCD.

6. Aratau Mahi
The Dlyfull UT1 charger offers four distinct operating modes: Charge, Discharge, Test, and Refresh. Each mode can be selected independently for each battery slot.
6.1 Kōwhiringa Aratau
- After inserting batteries, the charger will default to Te utu aratau.
- To select a different mode for a specific slot, press the Tuhinga button repeatedly until the desired slot is highlighted on the LCD.

- Once the desired mode is selected, the charger will begin the operation after a few seconds of inactivity or by pressing the MODE patene ano hei whakau.
6.2 Current Selection
The charging current can be adjusted for each slot:
- While a slot is highlighted (before operation starts), press the CURR. button repeatedly to cycle through available charging currents: 0.25A, 0.5A, 0.75A, 1A.
- Select a current appropriate for your battery's capacity. Lower currents are generally safer for smaller capacity batteries and can extend battery life.
6.3 Ngā Whakaahuatanga Aratau
- Aratau Utu: Charges the battery to its full capacity. The LCD will display charging time, current, voltage, and accumulated capacity.
- Aratau Tukunga: Discharges the battery to remove the "memory effect" often associated with Ni-CD batteries. This mode is useful before a refresh cycle.
- Aratau Whakamatau: Measures the actual capacity of the battery. The charger will fully charge the battery, then discharge it to measure its capacity, and finally recharge it. The measured capacity in mAh/Ah will be displayed.
- Aratau Tāmata: Designed to restore older batteries to their maximum capacity. This mode typically involves multiple charge-discharge cycles to break down crystal formations within the battery.
