2. Whakataki Tuatahi
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the internal 850mAh Lithium-Ion battery. The radio offers several charging methods:
- Moroiti-USB Toha: Connect the supplied USB cable to the radio's Micro-USB input port and to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port. The 'CHARGE' indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.
- Whakatauhia te ra: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. This method is ideal for maintaining charge or slow charging in outdoor conditions. The 'CHARGE' indicator light will illuminate when solar charging is active.
- Dynamo Crank Charging: Extend the dynamo crank handle located on the back of the radio. Rotate the crank clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace to generate power. This method is effective for emergency power. The 'CHARGE' indicator light will illuminate during cranking.

3. Toronga Pūihi
For optimal radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna. Adjust its position for the best signal clarity.

1. Te Hiko / Whakaweto
Pehia te MANA button (usually marked with ⓘ) to turn the radio on or off.
2. Mode Selection (DAB+/FM)
Pehia te PĀERE button to switch between DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus) and FM (Frequency Modulation) radio modes.
3. Tuning and Station Selection
- DAB+ Mode: Upon first use or after a reset, the radio will automatically scan for available DAB+ stations. Use the TE WHAKATIKANGA I RUNGA/I RARO buttons (▲ / ▼) to navigate through the list of available stations. Press KORERO hei whakaū i to whiringa.
- Aratau FM: Pehia te TE WHAKATIKANGA I RUNGA/I RARO buttons (▲ / ▼) to manually tune to a frequency. Press and hold these buttons for automatic scanning to the next available station.
4. Mana Rōrahi
Whakatikatikahia te oro whakarongo mā te whakamahi i te VOL+ a VOL - pātene.
5. Tatūkē

The radio includes an integrated LED flashlight. Press the dedicated Korama button (often located on the side or front) to cycle through different modes: On, Flashing, SOS, and Off.

The radio can act as a power bank to charge small external devices like smartphones via its USB-A output port. Connect your device's charging cable to the radio's USB-A output. Note that the radio's internal battery capacity (850mAh) is limited and may not fully charge larger devices.
8. Whakamahi Waeaoro
Connect standard 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack for private listening. The internal speaker will be muted automatically.
