4.1 Attaching the Plate to Your Camera
- Identify the 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting screws on the quick release plate.
- Align the screws with the corresponding threaded holes on the bottom of your camera or lens support.
- Use the provided Allen wrench to securely tighten both screws, ensuring the camera is firmly attached and does not twist. The rubber pads on the plate will help prevent slippage and protect your camera's finish.

4.2 Mounting to Gimbal
- Ensure your DJI RS 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, or Ronin-S gimbal's quick release clamp kua tino tuwhera.
- Slide the camera with the attached SMALLRIG Extended Quick Release Plate into the gimbal's quick release clamp.
- Whakaorangia te clamp mechanism on your gimbal to lock the plate in place.
- Perform initial balancing of your camera on the gimbal. The measurement scale on the side of the plate can assist in repeatable balancing.

For heavier camera setups or specific balancing needs, you can attach optional counterweights to the 1/4"-20 threaded hole located on the rear bottom of the plate.

5.1 Quick Release Mechanism
The quick release plate is designed for rapid attachment and detachment of your camera from the gimbal. Simply operate the gimbal's native quick release lever or knob to secure or release the plate.
5.2 Precise Balancing
Utilize the engraved measurement scales on the side of the plate to record and replicate optimal balancing positions for different camera and lens configurations. This ensures efficient setup times for recurring shoots.

Rongoā: Check if the gimbal's quick release clamp is fully open. Inspect the plate and clamp for any debris or damage that might obstruct smooth movement. - Issue: Gimbal balancing is difficult with a heavy setup.
Rongoā: Utilize the extended length of the plate to adjust the camera's position for better balance. Consider adding optional counterweights to the rear 1/4"-20 thread (e.g., SMALLRIG Counterweight Kit 3125).
