The NIKKO Welding Tiger Lighter is designed for immediate use. No complex assembly is required.

  1. Wewete ana: Carefully remove the lighter from its packaging.
  2. Tirohanga Tuatahi: Before first use, inspect the lighter for any visible damage or loose parts. Ensure the flint wheel rotates freely and the spring-loaded screw is secure.
  3. Flint Check: Verify that a flint is present and properly seated. The lighter comes with one spare flint and a spring-loaded screw already equipped.

Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

To ignite your welding torch or other equipment, follow these steps:

  1. Turanga: Hold the lighter firmly by its handle. Position the curved flame receiver directly over the nozzle of the welding torch or gas outlet you wish to ignite.
  2. Wehi: With your thumb, firmly press down on the flint wheel while simultaneously rotating it against the flint. This action will generate sparks.
  3. Tukurua mehemea e tika ana: If ignition does not occur immediately, repeat the process until a flame is produced.
  4. Tawhiti Haumaru: Always maintain a safe distance from the ignition point. The curved design of the flame receiver helps direct sparks safely.

Lighter does not produce sparks. Worn-out flint or flint not properly seated. Replace the flint. Ensure the new flint is correctly inserted and the spring-loaded screw is tightened.
Flint wheel is stiff or difficult to rotate. Debris or carbon buildup around the wheel. Clean the flint wheel and surrounding area with a dry brush.
Parts feel loose or rattle. Screws have loosened due to vibration or use. Carefully inspect all screws and tighten them as needed. Refer to the Safety Information regarding vibration.
